BENCH

Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Bench mobile app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Bench.

Bench is pre-release software in closed alpha. It is incomplete, will contain bugs, and may lose data. Features can change or disappear without notice. Do not rely on Bench as the only record of your training.

1. Who can use Bench

You must be at least 16 years old and capable of entering a binding agreement. Access during the alpha is by invitation, and we may withdraw it at any time.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly at support@benchfitness.app if you believe it has been compromised. Do not share your account or your TestFlight invitation with anyone else.

3. Health and safety

Bench is not medical advice. It is a training-log and programming tool, not a healthcare service, and nothing it produces is a diagnosis, treatment or professional medical opinion.

Strength training carries an inherent risk of serious injury. By using Bench you accept that risk and agree that:

4. AI-generated content

Bench uses a large language model to generate training programs, session reviews, program-change proposals and coach replies. This output can be wrong, inconsistent, or unsuitable for your circumstances, and may misread the data you give it. Treat it as a suggestion to evaluate, never as an instruction to follow without judgement.

No AI-generated change is applied to your program automatically — proposals are presented for you to accept or dismiss. Accepting one is your decision and your responsibility.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Your content

Your training data, notes and messages remain yours. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit them for the sole purpose of operating Bench and providing the features you request — including sending relevant context to our AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your data and we do not sell it.

You are responsible for having the right to upload anything you submit, including photographs of programs or training records created by someone else.

7. Beta feedback

If you send us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, we may use them to improve Bench without restriction, obligation or compensation to you.

8. Cost and subscriptions

Bench is free of charge for all alpha testers, with all features unlocked and no payment required. We may introduce paid plans in future. If we do, you will be told clearly before anything is charged, and no charge will ever be applied without your explicit purchase.

9. Availability

We make no promise that Bench will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may suspend, change or discontinue the service, or any feature, at any time during the alpha without notice. We may also delete alpha data when the alpha ends, though we will give notice and an export opportunity if we intend to.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

Bench is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app, or any program or analysis it produces, is accurate, complete or suitable for you.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity arising from your use of Bench. Because Bench is currently supplied free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to £100.

You remain responsible for your own training decisions and their consequences.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Bench at any time and delete your account under Settings → Your Data. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or when the alpha ends.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Bench develops. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use Bench after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
